Cebreros antenna construction

These photos were taken during the latter construction phase of the new Cebreros deep-space antenna.

On 24 November 2005, the 35-metre parabolic dish and its quadripode were lifted into position by a 600-tonne-capacity crane. It took less than 90 minutes to position and secure the dish and a mere 90 seconds for the quadripode. The huge crawler crane was powered by a 380 KW/516 hp Daimler-Chrysler engine.
