Personal hygiene on board the ISS

Hygiene is of course as important on board the ISS as it is on Earth. For their personal hygiene, all astronauts have a small kit containing all necessary items: a comb, a pair of scissors, a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, towels and tissues. Men can also have a razor, shaving cream and aftershave, while women might bring make-up. The kit is equipped with velcro so that the astronauts can attach it to the wall, otherwise it might float away while they are brushing their teeth!

One of the main differences when it comes to hygiene on board the ISS compared with that on Earth is how water behaves in near-weightless conditions.
