Description:
An electric heater can be placed above or below a container filled with an initially cold fluid. The fluid’s heating
is simulated in both cases, with convection set up in addition to conduction when the heater is placed above. The same experiment
can be done in weightlessness, in order to show that convection cannot start in weightlessness.
Objective(s):
Knowledge:
- Heat conduction
- Heat convection
- Convection’s dependence on gravity
