 Inside Node 1 “Unity”

Subject:
Science

Description:

Virtual reality representation of the interior of Node 1. You can navigate inside the interior using mouse and/or screen arrows. Every time the mouse cursor becomes a question mark a pop-up explanation can be opened.

Objective(s):

Knowledge:
  - Structure of the ISS connecting node
Understanding:
  - Solutions for ISS function and assembly
Skills:
  - Observation and 3D visualisation

 Inside Russian SM Zvezda

Subject:
Science

Description:

Virtual reality representation of the interior of the Russian Zvezda module. You can choose between four different viewpoints and navigate inside the interior using the mouse and/or screen arrows. Every time the mouse cursor becomes a question mark a pop-up explanation can be open.

Objective(s):

Knowledge:
  - Structure of the Zvezda module
  - Life facilities for astronauts on board ISS

 Convection current

Subject:
Science

Level:
**

Description:

An electric heater can be placed above or below a container filled with an initially cold fluid. The fluid’s heating is simulated in both cases, with convection set up in addition to conduction when the heater is placed above. The same experiment can be done in weightlessness, in order to show that convection cannot start in weightlessness.

Objective(s):

Knowledge:
  - Heat conduction
  - Heat convection
  - Convection’s dependence on gravity
Understanding:
  - Heat conduction
  - Heat convection
  - Convection’s dependence on gravity
Skills:
  - Deduction from observation
